GROUP OBEDIENCE
One Unit Canine group classes are held in different locations to allow owners easier access and socialization in different environments. Classes size varies because of location and weather but their will always be enough room for you and your pet. We don't discriminate when it comes to dog size, dog breeds or dog training tools to include pinch collars or e collars. Having an out of control dog that you can not handle will cause alot of disruption in class. Our exercise are broken down into four levels and you can progress through those levels at your own pace. Every Saturday with sixteen week attendance you can come with your pup to enjoy training with One Unit Canine in a group setting. Cant make it to class one week? No problem! The class are designed to allow you to miss the occasional Saturday and not fall behind.
Level 1: Basic obedience group package 40 minute group classes (location to be determined) Balanced training techniques Marker word training (“good”, “no”, clicker) Heel Sit/stay Down/stay Intro to place Polite greetings (no jumping) Recall (come when called) The Level 1 Group Obedience package is designed to give you and your dog the foundations upon which to build your training. Each class will work on skills to help your dog learn how to learn effectively and help you teach them in a way they understand. Our classes max out at 8 dogs so there is always plenty of attention and time for questions. Level 1 testing Dogs must perform a sit/stay with handlers at the end of a 6ft leash. Handlers must be able to walk all the way around the dog without breaking. Dogs must be able to perform a down/stay at the end of a 6ft. leash. Dogs must demonstrate the ability to walk with the handler without causing tension on the leash. Handler must change directions frequently.
Level 2: Intermediate group obedience package (unlimited attendance) 40 minute group classes (location to be determined) Cost: $400 Pre-requisite: Level 1 group package • Increase the distance from which your dog understands commands • Increase the distraction under which your dog will follow commands • Increase the duration for which your dog will hold commands • AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test (CGC) The Level 2 Group package builds off of where Level 1 leaves off and increases the distance, duration, and distractions in the environment during training and learn to better communicate with your dog. We will introduce your dog to commands leave it, drop it, and sending to place from a distance. Level 2 will prepare your dog for and conclude with the CGC test. The CGC or Canine Good Citizen is a nationally recognized combination of 10 basic obedience tasks designed to demonstrate your dog’s ability to be a well-behaved member of society. This class has a maximum of 8 dogs to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention. The completion of this class will grant you access to our Level 3 class where we will use new environments to help refine your communication in new places and makes you eligible for unlimited attendance. Level 3: Advanced Group Obedience Package (unlimited attendance) 40 minute group classes (location to be determined) Prerequisites: Level 1 and 2 group obedience, private lessons, One Unit Canine obedience test or the basic training program Our Level 3 Group package will take place in different locations such as parks, shopping areas and other pet-friendly locations to help your
dog learn that commands must be followed in all situations with new environments and distractions around them. The maximum attendance for this level is 8 dogs. Reserve your spot today!
Level 4….Lets Compete! 40 minute group classes (location to be determined) (8 weeks) Cost: Prerequisites: Level 1 2 and 4 group obedience, private lessons, board and train program or trainer approval. Our level 4…Lets Compete program focuses on competition-style obedience. This class will focus on introducing a focused heel, position changes, correct positions, and more advanced maneuvers found in obedience competitions such as AKC Rally, IPO, AKC Obedience, and more. The class will be offered for 8 sessions. To graduate a dog must pass the One Unit Canine Obedience Test. The maximum attendance for this level is 8 dogs. Reserve your spot today!
